Hikers drive hot topics on Klout beyond just hiking.
Data is a very important catalyst for our digital business both at Trail Sherpa and our other digital agency, Vestor Logic. Hot topics on Klout are always a good indication of where the conversations are headed.
This is the time of year when hikers and backpackers are forced to upgrade their gear to meet the needs of colder adventures. So we wanted to know what consumers are saying about hiking boots and waterproof footwear on the social platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
The early findings
We pulled reports together this morning to test the data set in this early stage. We’ve tagged more than 1000 mentions of ‘boots’ and ‘hiking’ over the last week and cross-referenced those mentions against Klout to uncover what influencers in the outdoor space are saying. The following chart shows the keywords mentioned by hikers when talking about ‘hiking’ and ‘boots’.

As the data set grows, we should be able to learn more about what is driving outdoor enthusiasts as they explore the various brands and products on the market. We’ll have more to share in the next few weeks.
